THE BROKEN ODE

Here it is! Rises to the sky the rebel,
leader of the third part of the angels.
Already your end is written.
He grows larger, reaches the army of heaven.
The stars under his feet fall to the earth.
Part of the army of the Most High falls to earth.
The Eternal is silent in his glory.
The Almighty can what freedom envies.
Behold, now it is already all ruin.
Never more named, it lies in the earth,
flung by the provoked hand.
The chasm is born, lair of tears.
Only the son of the dawn lies there.
The flames of arid tears are thinned out;
They dig deeper the pit.
Now he is silent.
He has not ascended to heaven, nor above the stars.
The mount of the assembly is closed.
Rolling your eyes you still remember, already as far away:
you were the one who trembled the earth beneath the sky,
shaking kingdoms and creating deserts
where life flourished before. Chains tightened
at defeated throats. There was no mercy for the captives.
You won glorious warriors, kings, legends.
All of them now lie in sepulchres,
far from trampled bodies, hatred of war.
You, far from the rest of the grave,
lie in these words, pit sprout.
Drums and bagpipes play in the sky,
while blooms stuck half in the earth
the seed of haughty betrayal.
Cold births the wind from flapping wings.
You cannot escape. You are tight in the bottom,
is ice in the chasm. No more warmth.
The flicker has left you.
I am not alone as I watch you.
You surround yourself down here with your own kind,
except two. Already far away by now. 
Now they all flee you. Fear is rampant.
Your beastly body is fortress.
I enter. There you are.
You are still crying.
